Project 365 - Week 13
Very strange week indeed. Spring has sprung, so most pics center around blooms. Spent the week in Morganton, NC for training - so i was very hotel-bound, campus-bound. Click on

3.23.08
Lazy Sunday - Dog Walk in the Neighborhood...these blooms had just
bloomed a few days ago and they were vibrant. The picture doesn't quite do them justice.

3.24.08
Morganton - Day One
As usual, sewing comes with to the hotel. I brought fancier
projects to work on...but ended up (due to review sessions and "socials"
where I was semi-ridiculed for buying bottled beer instead of imbibing in
the keg of Michelob Light) working primarily on a new Dog Quilt for the pups.

3.25.08
Day Two - walked around the facilities...found a pond. However, it was kind
dull and nasty, and on the side of the Interstate.
So I played around with this instead. Couldn't quite get the lines I wanted.

3.26.08
Day Three - getting a little pent up.
So, it was a campus that was on it's Spring Break.
Kind of wandered around on breaks when possible. This room
originally fooled some co-students who thought they'd walked in
on some real bodies (guess they hook up to monitoring equipment for
training purposes). Locked when I got there...so iffy shot.

3.27.08
Day Four - still in Morganton, still on campus.
Student art projects were scattered around campus...this one looks
better here than it did in person - paint splattered on woven metal rods.

3.28.08
Day Five - HOME and mail was waiting.
So the project that kept me up to 1:30 a.m. the night before my trip, and late
again on Monday...arrived in the mail. Is it perfect? Of course not. Is it
fixable? Yes. It is what I *should* be doing right now. It'll get there tho.

3.29.08
Spring stuff again...woke up to a lightening storm (Radley hid his head - just
his head - under the couch for almost an hour)! The Maple trees in my area
are blooming like mad. What was new this morning? LEAVES have sprung!

What a Contrast!
Beautiful azaleas! Helps me remember mine here in central WI, that currently has no buds, but rather winter-stiffened, brown leaves shaking on a blustery 40 degree grey day, will be colorful some day. Grey sky, grey 1 & 1/2 foot deep snow covering the flower garden, grey-brown grass where the warm spring sun melted the snow in some spots of the south facing backyard. Really, really wish I was there, sniffin all those blossoms and getting pollen kisses on the tip of my nose!

Gorgeous! I was just lamenting our late spring here the other day, so your pictures really perked me up.

Remember how, in Wisconsin, after the first big spring rain, everything seemed to turn green overnight? Here, most people in my neighborhood have some sort of weird grass (we have it too), which is very hay-like...and stays yellow FAR after that first rain...but I did see daffodils and crocus yesterday, so we're getting there...just a little slowly!

As for the other photos...LOVE the black and white one (looks like it could be an album cover). But of course my favorite is of the mysterious media guide ;-)

out of sheer strangeness, i like the "bodies" one. it's really a shame that room was locked--some close-ups might have been quite interesting portraits ;)
