Project 365 - Week 17
Last week Sunday was my first really long training hike (10 miles). I've learned that while it is cool to get a few photos along the way, pulling the camera in and out of my day pack slows me way down and is both okay (forced water break) and annoying as crap.

4.20.08
So here is WWC college, Dam Pasture Trail at about mile 4ish or so.
Rain was coming in at this point and the picture doesn't quite do the colors
justice. The rain kept it cool...i'm not looking forward to summer heat.

4.21.08
Whitewater Falls Recreation Area.
Tallest 'free' waterfall East of the Mississippi (at 411').
Difficult to really get a good small pick...here it is in FULL.

4.22.08
not-so-mystery package arrived today with lots of fun fabrics.
(thanks [info]casinoqueen)
I am currently satisfying the quilting urge by cutting, cutting, cutting and the
fabrics are are going into 3 doggie quilts and potentially one cool plaid backing.

4.23.08
Yard day...lots of new colors springing up. Allergies beginning to kick in.
Every once in a while, the weeds are the most beautiful thing around.

4.24.08
Whiteside Cliffs...also known as Sanigilâ'gĭ in Cherokee.
View looking north toward Cashiers, NC. Lovely cloud day.

4.25.08
Yancy County. Maybe [info]stephanieberry recognizes it?
Not crazy old, but cool rock front to a house - with the rest demolished.

4.26.08
Been meaning to try for this shot for a while. So, Nola is a vacuum.
Eats pretty much everything but olives and TABASCO. Now, I despise
Tabasco - it taints everything it touches. Turns out Nola hates it as
well and makes the most awful face when she encounters it.
Thus, [info]coffeefortwo's pizza is always safe.

my one regret about y'all moving is the fact i didn't get to spend enough time with nola. i know i've said this before, but i feel quite akin to that dog.

that face is glorious.

the beauty of that face is that is is EVERY time! she just hates the stuff...proving again that we are two of a kind.

Likes: hiking, playing outside, long naps in the middle of the afternoon, guinness, stuffed animals.

Dislikes: Tabasco sauce, people, feeling leashed, Jehovah's witnesses at the door, dieting.

i'm such a dork.

you've found yourself a lovely little familiar in nola and that makes you a very lucky lady. it's perfectly acceptable to be a dork about such things.

Nola Rocks. And yes, I recognize it! My brother has taken pictures of it as well...it used to have the structure crumbling behind it, but now it's just the front. Cool to see it here!
