Holidays are for House Projects...
We took the leap!
bought the flooring off Craig's List about a month ago...enlisted a good (new) friend to teach us the basics...borrowed tools from multiple sources (thanks BW!)...and here we are - breaking our backs over the three-day weekend to get the floor in.

Upside: the 'experts' all say the floor will look fantastic - mix of red pine, rustic grade, we've decided to hire someone to do the sanding and sealing, and it *should* be done in time for the lovely [info]casino_queen's visit (so she will have somewhere to sleep!).

Downside: the wood, well...I know what to check for when I buy flooring now. way too many pieces are unusable - no tongues, damaged tops, angled ends (barely angled cuts that you don't see till the board is in place). so the sorting and install and cutting processes have been very intensive.

thanks for the positive vibes! (oh - and it wasn't 12 hours worth of work...we would work for about 3, take a break, then do another 3. it is ROUGH on the back).

Looks awesome! Just (I say just like it's easy... I don't mean that) the one room, or is it the whole upstairs?
